about us
Dear Visitor,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Medical Dignity Clothing Corporation and the garments we design and provide to those who need them.
The company has evolved greatly since Sarah’s Story and I am pleased that my designs have given individuals an improved quality of life. I feel very honored to have received praise from caregivers, loved ones and patients alike who have experienced the remarkable benefits the clothing offers.
I am also pleased to make available my latest Medical Dignity Garment and sincerely hope it will make your difficult times a little easier.
The history of Medical Dignity Clothing Corporation began years before the company was created. It started out with Sarah’s Story and the compelling drive on behalf of the company’s founder, Mary Hogan, to help a 7-year-old girl and her family through a serious medical crisis.
Sarah’s Story
Sarah was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and was given only a 50% chance of survival. Her mother, a close friend of Mary Hogan, expressed how difficult it was to find clothing that kept her daughter comfortable while allowing caregivers access for her post-op treatments. There were no garments that opened in the front, providing access for the IVs and central lines without exposing herself to strangers. That’s when Mary went to the drawing board.
Working with drawings, Mary produced the first of many prototypes of clothing that would, years later, become the Medical Dignity Garment. Each outfit had break-away sleeves and flaps on the right and left side of the chest that opened all the way down the front so that if she had overnight stays at the hospital and needed a change of clothing, it could easily be done without having to disconnect from the central line. Sarah’s comfort greatly increased, while the stress of her treatments was significantly reduced.
Today, Sarah is in full remission and doing well with her family.
Our Mission
Medical Dignity Clothing Corporation seeks to make the difficult time of receiving infusion treatments such as chemotherapy, kidney dialysis, and pain management easier for our customers. We accomplish this mission by providing quality clothing designed to maintain the wearer’s dignity during treatment and also by simplifying the process for caregivers through our clothing’s ease of access.
